Thanks Richard, I am going to pull the water pump tonight and have a look, but I am getting water dribbling out the weep hole with the engine not running but full of water, so I am pretty sure it will need seals, let me know the best way to get in touch with you if you have an extra one. I had oil and coolant in it for 3 months or so since I last played with it, and am they have not contaminated each other, so that's good.
I don't need a caliper seal kit, turned out to just be a loose bleeder that was leaking all over everything (I really must hold off on posting up before I do some more verifications, it's a bit embarassing).
However I do have to re-seal the fuel pump, going to look into that tonight, hopefully it's just o-rings in the housing that I can get fuel resistant ones from Napa or McMaster or somebody once I find out what it is.
Also, I was able to order a pair of wheel bearings at Napa that will be in tomorrow, going to be about $30 and I will post up when they show up what the brand is and how they look.
Have the engine out and de-greasing everything this evening, then prep the new gearbox, the engine, and paint the engine compartment and back together tomorrow hopefully. After fixing the fuel pump then verify everything is hooked up right and then start troubleshooting to try to get it to start. Pulled a bunch of decent window and door rubber weather seals from a 900 at the yard this morning. Last thing will be cleaning up the paint some, it's been sitting outside in Palm Springs for about 7 years so it's mighty faded, it might not be salvagable.
My '73 has already been swapped over to K-Jet, so not running the original D-Jet, should make things a little easier to find info on.
Best,
Drew
