You adjust the rear brakes by turning the square adjusting bolt on the inside face of the brake back (towards the top).
It would be a good idea to remove the drum and check for wear but that's not what you asked.
Leaving the wheel on the car, jack up and support the rear.
Spin the rear wheel - yours will probably spin merrily with no brake drag.
With the rear wheel spinning, turn the brake adjuster screw until the shoes contact the drum and the wheel stops. Back off the adjuster screw a bit. You want the shoe to barely touch the drum - the wheel should spin two-three revolutions before gently stopping.
Repeat for the other side.
Bear in mind this is a foggy recollection from 15 years ago, so things may be slightly different.
