Without question, the best thing for cooling would be a radiator setup at least as large as the one on the car. Even with a radiator, it would eventually overheat because you would need the radiator in the proper place to have the fan pull air through it. The V4 has a fairly complex cooling system because it uses external hoses and tubes that carry coolant to the different parts of the engine which means those need to be in place with coolant flowing through them to cool everything. I guess it would be possible to feed water from a hose into the water pump and then catch the discharge that comes out of the top but it would take a large volume of water going in and something equal to catch it coming out.
