Saabers...
After a couple of years passing by(time goes fast) I finaly wish to activate the 195893b (My favorite antique Saab) The car will need a lot of work, and I will have the car better than new (I sure will try) Now, the car is under a thick oversize cover, and most time I pass or shake the chasis(Affection..man/car bonding) A whiff of a varnishlike smell rises to the nostrials, I recognize that smell as stale gas... Now being that the tank is a pre-mix design...(it has baffles) I am afraid to take it to a cleaning shop. I took one years ago (1968 two stroke shrike) and they cut the tank to clean for the guy stated that the stale gas was cement-like. They had to cut the tank to clean and rewelded. The first thing that popped int o my mind was..if they ruined the pre-mix design.
Can anyone described exactly what is inside the tank that gives it it's premix quality?
Are there any methods I can do myself to clean this smelly tank?
Thank you
