Saabers:
I had rebuilt a V4 in 2004, had the block boiled..and after spraying aircraft paint stripper, and cleaning, painted it a pretty silver along with the coolant pipes, heads etc... IT appeared lovely agains the red engine bay.
I am looking at the engine now, and already the paint is flaking, burned (engine not looking fresh anymore) I was meticulous about this! making sure to sand, rust, old paint etc, . The paint I used was a high temp ceramic engine paint..up to 1200 degrees.
Well now I have the engine out(tranny problems) any recomendations of how to make it long lasting? Is beadblasting best, Powder coating? I was advised of bead blasting due to the small grits that can get in the engine..
I will also paint the engine bay...Snadblasting? stripper?
Thanks Saabers
