I have a 72 so I have a big fresh air vent under the middle of my dash. So what I did is made a radio mount under the fresh air vent by using the vent mounting holes and to hide the sides of the radio and the wires I made a shroud for it. I mounted the radio there because it didn't make much sence to me, a single guy that doesn't have to many passagers in the car, to mount it on the other side or the car and cut my glove box in half. The only thing that I regrete is not buing a more modest stereo, all the stupid lights are a bit much at night. So my sugestion to you is where ever you mount the stereo, buy one that you can live with. good luck
