and slide it down the axle shaft. Trying to remove the outer CV is a rabbit hole you down want to fall into.
With the boot slid down the axle shaft you can support the cv joint in the press to install the bearing.
Be very careful when you install the hub that it mates with the big coarse splines on the cv stub.
