Thank you Steve. Great explanation of the ground situation. I ended up just running a wire from steering column where it emerges behind dash past the U-joint near firewall And horn working well
However I am not sure we will ever what really went wrong. My horn was working just fine. And one day just stopped. There is been no touching or altering anything. It just stopped. Which started my electrical pathway adventure. I don’t think I will ever know why the ground failed. But somehow the non conductivity you described is real ( even though all connections are metal )
I have asked every expert I can find. But I have moved in. Wire installed. And honking fine
