Ok I must have done something stupid. When I purchased this car a month ago I discovered that it needed a new fan - see photo. I was able to find a used fan and pulley. I took out the radiator to remove the old broken fan. I wasn’t smart enough to photo document how tight the belt was or the position of the top alternator bolt on the bracket. I just took off the old red fan and pulley and replaced it with the black one. I didn’t separate the black fan from its pulley but I did match it up to the one I took off and the diameter seeded to be the same. Note I did really tighten the 4bolts that attach the fan and hi to the square plate at the end of the shaft. Once I put everything back together I went to start the car which happened but the screeching was intense. I turned it off and looked at the engine when I had my wife start the car it started but the fan pulley was not rotating. Shut the car off and stopped everything hoping that I have caused damage. Any ideas if I damaged the engine or if it is possible that by tightening the 4 bolts at the pulley shaft that I screwed something up. I can see that there is space around the fan so it isn’t stuck on anything. I look forward to your input. Thanks
