Well, it was premature to say the Pertronix solved the problem. It's been getting worse.
After seeing if I could hit 90 on the freeway (not a problem) I shut it down and it would barely crank - not enough to start it. Seeing the old threads that talk about battery cable connections being a problem when it heats up, I'll look at that. I already re-soldered the connector to the starter because some of the conductors were starting to break. I'll try replacing the wire. Any tips on sources?
