I have a beautiful restored '78 99 turbo 2L B-motor. After the restoration was complete she ran like a champ. Passed NJ inspection and emissions. She was driven for about a month with no problems. Then one morning she would not idle or cold start. She will run at 2500 rpms or higher untill the temp gets into the green then it will not run at all. It cranks but will not turn over until the car is cold again. The back pressure is very high on the coolant and the exhaust is extremly hot and steams under the chassis. The water pump produces the proper flow, cis fuel distributor ok, fuel pressure regulator ok, ignition coil and distributor ok, plugs, cap, rotor, wires and ignition module ok. Fuel pump and relays ok. compression is good within 10%. Turbo and cat ok. no exhaust clogs. Thermostat and thermal time switch ok. Voltage to distributor ok and there is no difference with or w/o the O2 sensor. The car did over heat enough to blow the pressure but not enough to over heat the engine (due to bad fan motors) twice. Many of these parts were replaced brand new during restoration. I'm at a loss. Any input or opinions would help, no matter how simple. I may have just overlooked something obvious. thanks
