If it's like the ones that I have seen, it goes into one of the "freeze" plug holes. You remove the plug and install the heater in it's place. There is one of these heaters on the '77 99 that I've been stripping and the wires are damaged, possibly from heat. It is on the starter/exhaust side of the engine. It might be better to place it in one of the holes on the intake side.
