Oh man, you're hooked. Ive owned a '66 Monte since '71 and have I got stories. Here's just one, I live in Manhattan and garage the car in Queens. Well one beautiful spring day I pick up the car for the weekend and as I pull up to a red light and stop, I notice these two attractive 18 year old girls looking at me, smiling and giggling. All of a sudden, they shout out "Sir, Sir, do you have any Grey Poupon?" The light turned green and I gave them the thumbs up sign with a big smile, but it was nice to know that after 37 years, my 'weird' college car finally turned into a Roll Royce! However, if you really want to anger your fellow drivers try heading out of NYC over the Triborough Bridge on a hot Friday night. It's bumper to bumper and at least an hour. I've had an idiot shout "Get that thing fixed" while this guy is sitting in a BMW convertable smoking a cigar. So,if it's any consolation that blue smoke is just Saab's way of confirming those bearings are getting oiled - otherwise you'll be sitting higher than any SUV, as the tow truck helps you get home. I've got a lot of other cars from Sunbeam to Mercedes, but I still find the two-stroke the most addicting and exciting to fire up. Enjoy it and happy motoring.
