The sticker on the door says to use V-rated 195-60R15 tires. This is to handle the "max" speed possible on the car. The good part of this is you get a stiff tire with great grip and ability to handle the heat of the high speeds if you ran the autobahn all the time. The bad part of this is the ride can be real stiff and the tires typically wear out much quicker.
When I put the T-rated Michelins (in that size) on my 900, it handled as well (if not better) than the Yoko Avid V4's that were on there before and rode much better. If you get a decent tire, a lower speed rating will still give you a smooth ride, crisp handling and real good tire wear. Unless you're gonna hit some sustained 100+ mph speeds, even H-rated tires are overkill............
