Nay? Timing belt skips. They don't slip.

If when the timing belt cover is removed and engine turned over to TDC and all the marks lines up, the T-belt haven't skipped a tooth.
What we don't know in this scenario is if the shop now put the belt back on in timing and claiming that it is something else even though it was them putting it on incorrectly from the beginning?

Serpentine belt can slip though but timing belt can only skip a tooth or more.

It seems to be A LOT of BS going on here and everyone try to cover each other backs.

How can one shop say that the crank sprocket have come loose when the other say something internal is broken and that the belt timing is correct.

I would hate to have this happen to me if I had just installed a timing belt.
If it is something that was put together wrong you just have to cough it up and fix but if it is one of these Murphy's law syndrome you have to explain it to the customer that s#$%t happens.
