Excerpt taken from http://www.babcox.com/editorial/us/us50326.htm...
"Some vehicles with known readiness issues...vehicles that often have a "not ready" condition for the EVAP and catalytic converter monitors include 1996-’98 Volvos, 1996-’98 Saab and 1996-’97 Nissan 2.0L 200SX."
The "drive trace" or drive cycle info I found online for Saab's EVAP and catalyst monitors:
Catalyst Monitor Drive Trace
Pre-Conditioning Requirements:
MIL must be off.
ECT must be above 140E F (60E C).
Driving Procedure
1) Drive for about 10 minutes at highway speed (speed may vary).
2) Drive at a steady speed between 25 & 60 mph, for 2 minutes.
Note: During driving, rpm X load (kPa) should be between 60000 & 260000.
Enhanced Evaporative System Monitor Drive Trace
Pre-Conditioning Requirements:
MIL must be off.
ECT must be below 104E F (40E C).
Driving Procedure
1) From cold start, drive at 25-55 mph for 10 minutes, varying speed.
2) Stop and idle vehicle for 20 seconds.
3) Accelerate to 25 mph and maintain speed for 30 seconds.
4) Repeat steps 2 & 3 three (3) times.
Good luck!
