Hi All,

It's been a long while since I last posted, but I'm looking for some help from this great forum. I own a '97 900 SETC w/ 125k miles (I've had for about 4 years) and do all my own maintenance.

It's in dire need of a new clutch (throw-out bearing is about ready to become shrapnel), front struts/mounts, rear shocks and a few other things.

I had been contemplating moving up to a newer mid-size SUV for some time, and with the Saab's condition being what it was, I went ahead and did so.

I planned to unload the old girl by donating it to charity for a tax write-off, but I'm having a hard time parting with her. I've owned many cars, but this is the first one that's affected me like this...there's just something I love about that car...

Now, I also have a 15 year old son who will have his license in less than a year. For the last two years he's been begging me to keep the Saab for him. I told him long ago that it was too much car for a 16 year old new driver...it would get him into trouble pretty quick. Heck, I was stopped for speeding two times the first month I had it (she just likes to go fast)!

However, as I look at the old girl sitting in the driveway, I began to question if there were a relatively simple way for me to reduce/reroute the TC pressure (short of removing/replacing it with a low pressure unit). If so, I would seriously consider turning it over to him (he pays the insurance on it, of course). There are many positives to this scenario: My son and I spend time over the next year working together on a project car; he gets to drive a safe, cool car and learns a manual transmission; and the old girl stays in the family.

Any ideas are greatly appreciated.
