When I turned 17 I got my dad's 1986 9000Turbo. Man did that thing haul ass. However, my parents sat me down and gave me (in writing) some rules and also things I could potentially do in the car which would result in my loss of driving privilege. Their concern at the time (rightly so) was peer pressure as well, especially since I was one of the first in my class to drive. It worked, I only got one ticket, and it was only because I didn't notice I was in a school zone and was driving thru at the normal speed limit.
