How many miles are on you car? Are you sure that your drain plug is tight and the washer seal is in good condition? What about the oil filter? You car is newer so it has the upgraded rear main seal. The seal around the valve cover and the plug where the distributor would go on an N.A. engine often leak because the bolts loosen themselves. I can't believe that a leak from this location would make much of a puddle on the ground, but rather cover components downstream in oil. I think that the 1998 had weaker headbolts so the leak may be coming from somewhere around the head and block, again I don't think that this would lead to a puddle under the car. These cars have pretty low ground clearance, maybe you have a small hole in the oil pan?
