I suppose you can pull the fuse for the radio, but it sounds like it could be locked out, which is what happens after three tries. I would pull the fuse, which is easier than disconnecting the battery, wait a few minutes, and then try again.
These are the instructions I followed on my car:
Press and hold the "band" switch until CODE IN appears.
Re-enter code. Security system allows three consecutive tries.
After three tries, code entry is locked out for an hour before you can try again, ONCE. Then locked out for an hour again.
(Disconnecting power from the radio does not reset the one hour timer.)

As for the O2 sensor, there are different failure codes. Can you post the actual code? or look it up online (see link below), and post what it is?
In my case, the code indicated the sensor heater was bad, not the sensor itself. In the past, there was also a bad ground at the sensor that did not require replacing it. I think I saw posts about that here.
