how you the whole process went? Here is my issue. The clamps in place are crimpled a cm or so from a location where they are clicking into place. There seems to be a retainer type system of holes and tabs that secures the clamp in place. On my new clamps, such sytem does not exist.
The small clamp of the inner cv boot has a locking mechanism of some sort, so once the clamp goes in one direction is hard to move it in the opposite direction. I studied the clamp and cannot make sense of how this mechanism works, but it does. I pressume you would crimp the clamp in a way that would make the crimp secure the clamp and make it unable to turn back trough the locking mechanism?
The larger clamp does not have any type of locking system. In this case I pressume I have to turn the clamp material over the "locking" juncture, so as to use an additional pass to "lock" the clamp into place. I would then crimple the clamp in a way that would lock the entire clamp into place unable to be undone.
Cable ties sound more and more promising :) Anyone ever used these? I thought about the hose clamps. I can see how having the weight unbalanced would create a problem.
