You've described perfectly what I was trying to get at: to give the turbo a little more spool-up time before the wastegate opens, without affecting overall boost pressure.
I'm thinking about this 'cos I'm very happy with the performance when on full boost, but I think the transition *to* full boost from "normal" running (for example, when you go to overtake on a country road at about 45mph in 4th gear) could be a bit quicker.
Probably tightening the wastegate actuator rod would do the same, but for the sake of a piece of tubing I might give this a try.
