Actually, the S60 probably has very little Ford influence. Ford bought Volvo well into the S60's design. The next Volvo is likely to be heavily influenced by Ford, however.

What is your basis for hating Ford? I've always wondered why some people are so biased against car makers. To me, each of the "big 3" have flaws, but I like them all. Chrsyler's quality isn't quite there, and I wish that they'd put more emphasis on safety, but they lead for innovative design and fun to drive, in many categories.. Ford has too many recalls (I had a Mountaineer that was recalled at least 3 times in the year I owned it... and it was a 4 year old design), but their designs are cohesive and they feel like quality products. GM builds some really crappy cars, but they are extremely innovative and the Cadillacs, for example, are high tech autos. But other than Oldsmobile and Saab designs, I think they make some ugly products!
