I drove one when I was younger. Uncool so people don't want to drive in it unless they have to. Slow so that you can't get into TOO much trouble. Rather safe if you get it. I got hit by a 73 Pontiac in one.
The only unsafe thing about it is that it performed so badly that you can't really avoid an accident that is happening, or about to happen, right near you.
That's one of the things I like about the Saab. The extra performance will help you actually avoid accidents if you use common sense. (Abbott helped of course).
