By installing the Manual boost controller, such as the dawes, you are disabling the ECU's ability to reduce boost via the BPC valve when knocking is detected. Anyone had any problems or concerns with this aspect. I am considering the Dawes MBC but I am concerned about disabling this engine protection feature. I assume that the ECU will still adjust timing to reduce pre-ignition if knock is detected even with the MBC installed. Is this sufficiant protection alone? Are there any other issues?
