I keep having 9-3's as 3 door in my mind and forgot you had a 5-door..!

I can't speak from personal experience but most people with 5-door cars from the BB using 205/55/16 which is a tad less than 225/45/17 report slight touching on the fuel filler. Also, while I was asking about tire fitments for myself Karl from Sweden -who is generally well informed- told me that to his knowledge 3-doors can accept a slightly larger rim/tire combo.

If you want my opinion go with 215/45 or 235/40. But... 235 especially with the lower 40 series profile are likely to yield very significant handling improvements and really ameliorate road feel (plus you will be able to park without fear). If you have smooth roads in your area, and if the car is for your own personal use, go with the 235's : )
