Look up the section on audio under the frequently asked questions of the site. From what I've read, the challenges requiring some patience and mechanical expertise include:
1. The additional amp goes behind the vertical finish panel under the dash board, on left side of front passenger footwell;
2. A special adapter plug/cable is needed to plug into the existing head unit - though, if you get the amp from a 9-3 SE, you will likely get that adapter;
3. Install of speakers in the front door requires remove and replace the interior front door panels - you cannot remove the existing grills from the front side;
4. The author of the site linked re the audio upgrade does not, as I recall, seem to think 9-3 SE audio package (available from the dealer to upgrade non-SE models) is particularly good. Most people seem to be very pleased with results from upgrading the existing speakers via the after-market (such as Crutchfield), and possibly adding an after-market amp and speakers for the doors.
Good luck!
