It is only a 4 cylinder that's naturally aspirated getting 240 HP, pretty good to me. 120HP per liter. Although torque is insufficient, that's not really the problem since the car is made for high speeds. 60 mph and up, the S2000 will kill the Viggen, hands down because of Honda's top end performance engines (VTEC). I also have to say the S2000 will take the Viggen in handling.

A lot of people talk about how it's not that quick off the launch because of the lack of torque. The S2000 is a car you wanna drive hard, like you stole it, and I mean really hard. In order to get a good launch, you have to drop the clutch at around 7000 RPMS. You have to really KNOW the car to know how to drive it. Tell your ex-wife to take the car onto a track for real results.

Difference between an S2000 and a Civic?

-S2000 - Pure race bred car, it's a fact. It's completely different than any Honda made and nobody I know sees it as a "souped up civic." If that was told to an S2000 owner, they'd be insulted, sorry to say. The S2000 is also the Little sibling of the NSX.

-Civic - Economy car kids make fast, and a lot of people really do. But there are a lot of quick JDM Civics, like the Civic Type R and the Civic Si-R.

All my friend's Civics (all motor, no turbo, no NOS) will easily beat S2000s or Viggens, but when it comes to handling, the S2000 is exceptional. One thing I do like about Saabs are that they come with a stock turbo, and who can't love the whistle sound from a turbo? Don't get me wrong, I wanted a Viggen but just couldn't find one so I settled for a base. I also wanted an S2000 but my Uncle thought it was "too much" of a sports car for me, hence, why I wanted a Viggen, he didn't know anything about the car.

one more thing...
VTEC is made by Honda
"Vtech" makes phones
:)
