It sounds like you really have an itch to scratch. Do you want to get some high performance brake pads?
I have 130000 miles on my original brake pads. They have about 40% of the pad material remaining. The rotors are original and the wear surfaces are bright and uniform.
That being said, I will be replacing the front pads and rotors, and the rears plug new rear calipers. Part of a general renewal. I could probably get another year or two from the front brakes. One rear caliper has a stuck piston. That is what is precipiating this work. New stuff will basically be stock items except for the EBC front brake pads.
If you are into heavy city driving, you could be needing new pads. But if there is plenty of pad material remaining... not.
PS
I really depend on my brakes working right. There are sun glare heavy traffic surge braking problems at 75 mph and max braking is often needed. I also want uniform braking effort for the winter for icy conditions. Your life depends on good tires and brakes.
