Is that a 4-door hatch is a very handy configuration and Lexus is a good car. Cross-over vehicles are all the rage and will only get hotter. I'll grant you that Saab was making 4 door hatches a long time ago...but they were doing it when it wasn't trendy.
Saab also didn't have anything to offer in the 9-3 size and price range when hatches were out of favor with the market. Now, hatches are popular and the 'versatile-vehicle' is all the rage. Unfortunately, all the gossip on this site suggests that Saab is dropping the hatch.
Now I ask you. Is Saab a trend setter who doesn't stick with it long enough to capitalize? Or is Saab *so* out of touch with what the masses want that it is always playing catch-up?
Either way, I'm happy with my 9-3SE but I just wish that Saab could find a way to appeal to a few more people. Its the only way to guarantee its survival in a really bad economy.

PS> Mark my words. That Lexus will be outselling the 9-3SE in no time flat. In a few production cycles, the sales numbers won't even be close.
