I can't answer the exact dollar question, but can say that it is grossly overpriced ($395 I think in Maine). If you're handy enough to find this board, you're likely handy enough to do virtually each of the steps on the 30k service other than say the alignment. I farmed that out, changed the fluids myself, and did each of the items mentioned in the manual. I did speak with the service amnager at Saab and explained that I have been servicing all of my cars for years and asked hi if this would void my warranty. He said no, but keep good documentation of fluids purchased, etc. The whole procedure cost be less than a hundred bucks and took less than 2 hrs. Add to that 55 bucks for the alignment, and it's still way less than the hundreds the dealer charges, AND I'm sure it was done with lots of care and love for my vehicle. Just a thought!
PS-adding insult to injury, I asked the service tech what they do in a break and coolant fluid change. Turns out they don't even fully drain the systems. The brake fluid cange is nothing more than a turkey baster sucking the fluid out of the reservoir and replacing with new. (Can you say 5 minutes, boys!) The coolant is also just a simple drain and replace, no flushing or circulation. At least I pumped the brake fluid out of my lines and did a thorough job.
