I use my Viggen as a daily driver, tractor, ski hauler, campmobile, and I sure as heck won't store it away over the winter. Living in the salty northeast (Maine coast, yep we get it on the road and in the salt air as well!) Now hopefully my cockiness will be justified. I have had a Volvo 850 for 7 years and 230,000 miles and never once garaged it. In fact, it probably hasen't seen a car wash in 2 years! Not a speck of rust. Know why? Galvanizing! That's what most better car makers do to theit sheet metal these days. Hopefull Saab did it to my Viggen or else it looks like I'll be the horse's a**. You're at far greater risk of curb scrapes, keying, parking lot dents, etc in a big city that the rust causing you any harm. I'd be bullsh*t if I though my Viggen was going to rust. No car costing over 30k today should be prone to the rust we saw in the old days. Just one fool's opinion, though.
