This camber steer seesm to be very sensitive to tires/wheels. I hjave a 99 9-3 5-sp with Michelin Piolt HX 205/50R16's and I find that is has alot of camber steer. When I change to my winter 195/60R15's it is vastly reduced. I also test drove a 2001 9-3 SE auto with Goodyear 205/50R16's and it had much less camber steer then my car with the Michlelins of the same size and same wheels. I recently drove a 2002 SE 5-sp with the 17" tire option running 215/45R17 Pirelli P600's and it did have bump steer much like my car. I think the stiffness of the tire sidewall, which effects its compliance, and the width of the tire are factors. A wide (205 or 215) high performance tire(stiffer side wall)with with narrow side walls (50 or 45 series) seems to bring out the worst. A narrower (195) winter tire (softer side wall) with narrower side walls (60 series) seesm to reduce it. It is, it seems, a classic trade-off effect (more responsive handling = greater camber steer). I also think that the auto transmission helps to reduce torque steer effects since the auto torque converter smooths out the torque transitions going to the front wheels as compared to a manual tranmission. This has been my experience / obervation at least.
