This week I receeived a call from chase financial, I knew my 39 month lease for my car ( 9-3) was up soon, they were informing me that my last lease payment was due dec 1st and my lease expires on 1/1/02. my buyout was $16050, being in sales I immediately cut him off and demanded what my "real" buyout was. He told me 12000 and I would not have to pay the last month. That is $4000+, I told him I would think about, my intention is to counter offer and see if he'll go lower, I mean after all he dropped $4000 for something that I was contractually obligated to pay- IF I KEPT the car. My guess is they have a slew of these cars, the wholesalers can't buy him if they can't sell them. From what I understand with other people used cars are a very very tough sell right now, including SUVs, mostly due to the available 2001 inventory and the 0% financing of new 2002.
I will update again if my counter offer is taken of 10500, can anyone else out the cooberate other instances????
