A GM product will never sell in Europe unless it is designed for use there. Europeans like and need small (tiny) cars and they want speed because the speed limit in Europe is 82mph on most freeways and unlimited on the autobahn. A 9-5 is a big car in Europe and the 9-3 is considered to be an average size family sedan. I've been waiting for a US manufacturer for twenty years to build a decent small car and it hasn't happened yet. I don't see it happening anytime soon in the future either. So if GM wants to sell cars in Europe, they had better let Europeans design, test and build them.
Saabs will continue to sell in Europe if they continue to be designed, built, and tested there for use there. Hopefully GM will realize this and leave Saab well enough alone to make a car that Europeans will like. If they do that, Saab will be ok.
