No whining here! (long)

I'm posting just to let everyone know...including the possible lurkers considering a future Saab purchase...that my 9-3 is now 2 years old with only ONE repair (sunroof motor) which was handled promptly and covered under the factory warranty. Same can be said about my wife's 1998 900S (T), only it's 4 years old. I've had ZERO major issues, have never had wheel shake, bad turbo (gasket), dumped coffee in my SID, stalls, electrical gremlins, tranny issues, blown head gasket, or a bad seat heater (KNOCK ON WOOD). I keep up with the maintenance schedule and follow warranty requirements. To date, the only mods I sport are the Saab sport exhaust, K&N air filter and a forge dump valve all of which have caused no issues and function as planned. I've switched to Mille Miglia 17" wheels wrapped with 215/45-17's which don't make the ride as rough as I thought and seem to handle better than the stock 15's-195/60-15 (base model).
It's important for people to know that all cars are not built to be unmaintenanced and fail safe. Cars break. I work in the retail end of the automobile industry...and there is no "perfect" car. This board is simply here for Saabists to coagulate ideas and ask for advice/help...it's rare for someone to post what a piece of garbage their car is (usually when a repair is out of warranty).
Most of the common issues that don't need to be dealer serviced, have been mentioned on this board and TSB's have been posted on one of the sponsors web sites for issues that do. I have a whole text file full of helpful hints, mods, and tweaks and DIY's just from this board alone...and they are invaluable to me. Consider yourselves lucky to have such a wonderful resource available to us.
