sorry, I did search but didn't find the info I was looking for.
Dean had mentioned needing lots of cutting and/or welding to install a true atmospheric dump valve. Looking under my hood (99 9-3 base model), it doesn't seem that way. I would like to install an atmospheric valve, hey, I like the sound.
Anyway, from the looks of it this is what I think it would take to install it.
1) A dump valve (piston model)that can handle 10-25 lbs of boost and isn't open at idle.
2) remove stock valve and hose leading back to turbo inlet.
3) install new valve in old valve location. hook up the vacum line.
4) plug hole created by hose removed (just above turbo intake)
that seems like all it would take. this pic isn't my car, but it explains what I'm talking about.
please fill me in if I'm wrong.
