Is it normal to need brakes and rotors on a '99 Viggen at 23,000 miles? The dealer says this is normal. There was some uneven wear, that is more worn on one side than the other. My independant mechanic says he thinks there's a problem and it should be a warranty item. The local dealer says that's not abnormal at all. Other manufacturers cover brakes under their free maintenance program, but not Saab? Twenty years ago Saabs ate brakes, has it not improved?
