Go to a highly reputable Saab mechanic. Not a dealer. This website should help you find one. Ask them if they will draft up a document explaining how and why a K&N air filter in no way can damage the car. If they'll go
the stretch, ask them to put in a paragraph about how it's better.
Ask that same mechanic for price estimates on regular service / average warranty work for the remainder of your warranty.
Then start the legal process. You should be able to sue for the aforementioned amount. In addition, you should be able to sue for any amount thereafter if something surprising comes up. You may want to put that in your initial complaint with the court.
You can do all this yourself in small claims court. It's just a matter off going downtown and dealing with bureaucracy and paperwork. It will cost Zumbach much more to pay an attorney to deal with this than it will for them to just honor your warranty.
Oh yeah, keep a record of your time. Charge them for that too. Just figure out your hourly salary based in this years income tax filing.
It may sound strange, but at some point down this road Zumbach will have to change their mind. If not, they will have suffered more than they gained.
Don't forget the BBB either. There are plenty of dealers in NJ who would love to get Zumbach's overflow.
