I seriously think that Saab needs to stop selling cars along side crappy Saturns and Izuzus here in Canada. After all MB wouldnt be seen dead putting an S-Class on a Chrysler lot, would they?!
No9, here is my best attempt at translating what you said for all those who 'ne comprend pas le francais'. I only took French up to grade 12 so excuse any error! :)
All sites SAAB in the world have had the new SAAB 9-3 2003 online since May 13, 2002. Romania did it even before the USA. It is May 16 and GM Canada does not yet mention it. However, the future of SAAB could depend on the success of this entirely new model, of which the very ambitious acknowledged goal is to attract purchasers of BMW series 3, Volvo S60 Audi A4, Mercedes C-Class.
A sad example moreover which reinforces the general impression that GM Canada is not interested in SAAB. You do very little publicity and when you do you fail to emphasis the most significant characteristics of the SAAB. As an example, SAAB produces among the safest cars in the world but this never gets mentioned. In Canada, when car safety is brought up one thinks Volvo!
Moreover, the 9-5 is a large practical, powerful car AND relatively frugal when it comes to fuel consumption but it never gets promoted so only owners know how good a car it really is. Saab does not offer aftermarket products, available in other countries, which would help to create interest with the public and keep customers loyal. Do you feel its ok to rest your laurels and just accept that customers will always come back as we are probably one of the most faithful customers in the industry? Allow me to say to you, very humbly, that that could play against you as you are trying to make SAAB profitable again and have set very high sales targets and you need all the new customers you can get! A change of attitude is essential if you want to be part of this worldwide success.
This is the opinion of a three-time Saab owner in Canada. I hope that this maked you aware of the big gaps in dealer service when it comes to SSI(Saab, Saturn Izuzu). It may be a good place to buy a Saturn but is certainly not the right place to buy a Saab. It is a pity that GM Canada does not seem to realize that it has an excellent product in hand that is a great addition to the GM Family of cars.
