I posted about 10 months ago when my 2000 saab 93 lost a motor, Thanks to the advice I received from this board I was able to after much aggravation get saab to cover the motor. However, here I am looking for some more advice. My car has roughly 26,000 miles, and starting from a full stop at a light I heard a snap. I stopped within feet, looked saw nothing underneath or under the hood. I then drove about 500 feet to another light where I stopped again. When I left this light I heard another crack, with this I pulled across the roadway into a large parking lot. When I got out I saw a long solid trail of oil. Looking under the car I found a small inch and half gear that was broken in half. The long and short of this is the dealer this morning after looking at the vehicle, which was towed in says the transmission is gone and needs total replacement. They informed that they never see this, and that Saab is unlikely to replace the unit.
If anyone has any experience with this situation I would appreciate any info you could provide. Of note the car is driven in an urban enviornment, and is not used in any abnormal fashion.
Thank you
