Well, i answered my own question (the hard way)
The 8pin DIN cable that goes to the Harmon amp has a Right Front, Left Front and Ground pin (see the Audio FAQ for pin outs... that diagram shows the pins as seen in the back of the standard saab radio, so your plug will have to be reversed). I purchased a Female 8pin DIN connector at FRY's (a northern california electronics store) for 99 cents. Then i wired a pair of RCA plugs to the Right Front and Left Front pins and tied their grounds together and wired that to the Ground pin. The only final connection was from the middle pin, which is the Amp turn-on wire. plugged the two RCA plugs into the Sub Woofer outputs of my new Sony MP70 unit, and viola!
