Just a quick update on yesterday's post. I was amazed at the excellent service I recieved after my breakdown on Wednesday night. The auto club (AA) Picked up my car within 40 mins and took it home for me. They then organised a hire car for me a 2 litre car not as good as the Saab but hey what do you expected at night!! This was then delivered to me within 1 hour.
Next morning I called Abbott who recommended Saab City in London who would not be worried about all of the modifications. The car was booked in with Mark the service manager who I told about all of the modifications. The car was collected by Auto Club and taken to the dealership. The work was all carried out under warranty. The car was then delivered back to me the same day, it had even been given a full vallet including wax and polish!!
The hire car was then collected from me. The cost of all of this was absolutely nothing. This is the standard 3 year package , which is included with all Saabs for the first 3years even if you are not the original owner. I have owned many cars in the past but have never received this level of service and convenienc after a breakdown ever even from people like Porsche BMW, Mercedes etc. Well done Saab for putting together such a good package.
I would be interested to know what experience other people have had after breakdowns in their first 3 years, both in the UK and elsewhere. I really cannot praise the service highly enough and the fact that from breakdown to getting my car back all took less than 24 hours, cost nothing and caused only 45 mins of aggravation.
