We put the rear-facing child seat in the middle of the rear bench on our 9-3 for two reasons. First, I figured it would be the safest place and second because there isn't a whole heck of a lot of room. Our second child is on the way and I'm really torn between getting rid of the 9-3 and getting the bigger 9-5 or simply staying with the 9-3.

In either case, our 99 9-3 DOES NOT have latch anchors on the floor. However, I've now installed car seats in about a half dozen cars and I will say that the Saab installation is BY FAR the best. Get the upper anchor by calling SaabUSA. With the upper anchor in place, the seat is PLANTED! Frankly I don't see the need for the lower anchor in the 9-3.
