as some of u might know i have a very modified vigggen, i had a track school this weekend, 2 days of fun on the world know track sebring full track 3.78 miles very fast and hard on brakes. i have lots of seat time on this track in difference cars, m3 95, 911 [88 930, 993 96 turbo, 993 carrera] cars i have owned. well let me just say i luv my car for the street, great touring car, but for the track it just sucks, i mean sucks, this is my first saab so it might not be far for me to say this but let me tell u what happened to me. i have the large ap racing brakes on there from abbott. the school is for 2 full days, the group i was in had 4 30 mint times on sat. and on sunday there was 2 30 mint and 2 20 mint. the first day at 900 am in the mornin,after 2 warm up laps i start to get into the car, the back straight u can get to 140 if u know what u r doing in the viggen i was 125 before brake zone and double apex turn, have about 30 feet run off, i lost my brakes total fade pumping like crazy i got them back missed wall by 6 feet. i come in to pits, i go and buy better fluid because i think the dealer put sht stuff in, i bleed all line get rid of the stuff and make the the new stuff is in, just in time for next round. on the trakc car is doing pretty good passed a new porsche twin turbo coming off the big straight again, but this time i look at my gauges and i am over heating. milk car back to pits, open hood and the hose of the radiator is off of the engine this is after 2 laps. at this time i have about 6 laps in so far, i repair it, the sht clamps they have n here, so the next session i start off easy to make sure all is well, then i get back into again on the 3 rd lap, bam the over heating light on again, milk it back to pits, this time i am done for the day, went to pep boys and got some clamps, did the work that night. ok next mornin ready to go and push the car some more, the first 2 laps i take it easy, the 3 laps i am on it again, back straight, now there r like 5 places on this track u can get in the 115 130 range before u hit brakes hard for corners, well back to the back straight coming into the corner at 125 again but this time i have 2 cars in front of me i lose the brakes again, missed the wall by 3 inches, my question is why the heck do they not have brake ducts for the race car they make, i mean this thing is a death trap, i am lucky that i have been racing cars for 7 years, if a beginer was in this car they would of ate it hard. well i am pissed, 2 days and 8 laps. going to right the saab of north america, i am also having the ducts put in too, am going to give the car one more tyr in january another 2 day school at sebring, might have to sell it. after all i have done bummer. that is my view of the car. never take it to the track.
