I could be wrong but the whole marriage divorce issue has more to do with the cars computer system than the cd changer. I would be willing to believe that in order to divorce the component, the computer must be connected to the unit itself. I have a hard time believing that a dealer is going to not help you especially if you are willing to pay for the service. Who in their right mind would turn down cash to do something that is pretty simple. Might be that the previous owner has to bring the changer and have the dealer connect it to your car and then the divorce can take place. Not aware of any clearing technique that will cure the situation. Also the dealer sees so many cars, do you think they notice and cd changer, in the trunk of the car no less. I sure wouldn't. It really is the previous owners perogative to remove the changer but what the person didn't know was the divorce end of the uninstallation that needed to be done. As for suing the dealer as mentioned by a previous poster. Give me a break. Every time something happens that is out of the ordinary the answer is not sue them. What happened to the days when people just did what had to be done and kept their yappers shut. Nothing to get all upset about.
My 2 cents
