Oil drain plug (other options?)

When I had my 9-3 in for the 40,000 mile service a few months ago, they must have overtightened the oil drain plug because when I tried to loosen it yesterday to change the oil, I could not budge it using the 13mm 6-point socket I normally use. (In fact, the 1/4" - 3/8" socket adapter on my Craftsman socket wrench actually gave way and broke off!)
Well, being in somewhat of a hurry at that point and not having the tools to finish the job, I broke down and took it to the local quick lube place. They also found the oil drain plug to be so tight they were afraid they would round of the corners of the bolt head even more (they said they the corners were already partially rounded off). They asked if I had another oil drain plug, since they did not have that kind. I didn't, and by that time on a Saturday, the only option was a local AutoZone that said they could supply a drain plug that matched the thread count of the Saab plug. According to their catalog, it should be a 14m - 1.5 thread oil drain plug. This plug, though, looked significantly different than what I am used to seeing with the Saab plug. Are those the right specs for the plug?
At this point I plan, instead, to take it back to the dealer Monday morning (since they changed the oil last) and get them to address the problem. But since my warranty will be up in another 5,000 miles and I will be changing the oil myself after this, I am wondering about whether to stick the standard Saab drain plug (and keep a spare on hand), or move to the Fram sureDrain system, which seemed to be well-reguarded by the staff and customers at the AutoZone. Is anyone using the sureDrain on your 9-3? How do you like it?
