In Europe, "Vector" is an interior trim level, with both 175 and 210 hp models available. In the USA, Vector and Arc will be sold only with the 210 hp engines - the Vector with the full "ground effect" trim and sports suspension. Aside from the badges, it is identical to the European Aero.

Marketing in the USA believes that a Saab labelled Aero must have higher power than any other available model - hence, no Aero labels until an even higher output version becomes available.

How much higher? How many cylinders? The 9-3X concept car has a 2.8l V-6 with 275 hp and AWD. Would that be an Aero? The global 4 engine family includes 2.2l variants, which have held together (at least briefly) while cranking some 800 hp. The 2.0 produces 210 hp at 0.8bar max boost - a 2.2 at 1.0 bar max boost should have an output similar to or greater than the current 2.3L 9-5 Aero motor. Would that be an Aero? Time will tell, and so will NINES (as soon as they tell me ;-))
