I found this to be rather bizarre. Page 218 of the owner's manual states:
"When the car is new, the body should be washed by hand using cold water and a clean soft brush through which the water flows. Automatic carwashes should be avoided when the car is new.
After 5-6 months, the paintwork will have hardened. To facilitate cleaning, a suitable detergent can be added to the water, which should be lukewarm."
Now, I can understand not waxing a new car, but not washing it? It's been 3 months since my 9-3 was built, and it's getting pretty dirty. I have to believe that some non-wax car wash is better for the finish than the calcium chloride road salt that its currently encrusted with.
Anyone have any ideas or comments?
