With all due respects, the 0W-30 Mobil 1 has alot to do with it--in my opinion.
Last yr. I ran 5W-30 Mobil 1 in this car in the winter, and I perceive it to warm faster now.
Mileage is slightly higher too, but that's expected with 0W- synthetic oils.
Mobil 1 website maintains 0W-30 as their highest mpg product.
Secondly is the fuel. Premium gasoline seemed to make the engine crank about 1/2 second longer before firing in the deep cold weather, compared to the same car with midgrade 89. (Same brand-name in both cases). Fresh NGK plugs in both comparisons.

This car seems like it just can't wait for the key to start-up. I'm happy because of little wear-and-tear on my starter, and battery. Should hopefully be good for the DI...

Battery is the SAAB OE battery--that you can top-off if needed.

Car is a 2002 9-3 SE Auto. 205 hp. T-7. Just my observations over 2 successive winters in the same car.
